No dia 4 de julho de 1776, redigida pelo Comitê dos Cinco, a Declaração de independência dos Estados Unidos foi assinada pelos Pais Fundadores dos Estados Unidos da América. Até então, os EUA eram uma colônia da Grã-Bretanha, mas já estavam em guerra há mais de um ano devido aos altos impostos cobrados pela Inglaterra de seus colonizadores.
Baseado nos ideais do Iluminismo (liberdade, igualdade e fraternidade), a Declaração defende a liberdade individual, o respeito aos direitos do ser humano e o direito de revolução.
Normalmente, por todo o país, acontecem eventos comemorativos, como desfiles, shows, competições esportivas e fogos de artificio.
Na última quinta-feira, 30 de junho, a Câmara Texana de Comércio no Brasil foi convidada para o 246° Aniversário da Independência dos Estados Unidos da América, pela Cônsul Geral dos Estados Unidos da América no Rio de Janeiro, Sra. Jacqueline Ward. O evento contou com a participação do Encarregado de Negócios a.i Sr. Douglas Koneff. Nosso vice-presidente e esposa, srs. Mauro e Cláudia Câmara foram os representantes da Betchamber.
On July 4th, 1776, drafted by the Committee of Five, the United States Declaration of Independence was signed by the Founding Fathers of the United States of America. Until then, the USA was a colony of Great Britain, but it had been at war for more than a year due to the high taxes levied by England on its colonizers.
Based on the ideals of the Enlightenment (liberty, equality and fraternity), the Declaration defends individual liberty, respect for human rights and the right to revolution.
Typically, throughout the country, commemorative events take place, such as parades, concerts, sports competitions and fireworks.
Last Thursday, June 30th, the Texan Chamber of Commerce in Brazil was invited to the 246th Anniversary of the Independence of the United States of America by the Consul General of the United States of America in Rio de Janeiro, Ms. Jacqueline Ward. The event was attended by the Chargé d’Affaires a.i Mr. Douglas Koneff. Our vice president and wife, Messrs. Mauro and Cláudia Câmara were the representatives of Betchamber.
